What is an Enhanced DBS Check?

The highest degree of criminal background checks available in the UK is an Enhanced DBS check. It displays a candidate’s whole criminal history, including any cautions, suspensions, warnings, spent and unspent convictions, as well as any other pertinent data located in local police records.

The fee for an enhanced DBS check is £50 (excl. VAT) (with or without a barred list check). However, DBS checks for volunteers are free of cost (excluding the handling fee).
